Assessment Overview

 

Certification Title: Integration Health + Education's Women’s Health Certification
Description: Five Modules, each with multiple sessions.
Duration: 
No time limit.  Courses are recurring yearly.
Format: Part-time; a mix of in-person and virtual live and recorded seminars & hands-on learning.
Total Contact Hours: Approximately 108 hours 
Prerequisites: Must be an Allied Health or Wellness Practitioner (E.g. OMP, PT, RMT, DC, AT, Nurse, ND, OT) who meets the following criteria:

  • Current registration with provincial regulator or current license with accredited association 
  • Minimum 1 year post-graduation clinical practice
  • Current professional liability insurance

 

Module 1 - Puberty & Adolescent Health

  • Practical Skills Assessment: Demonstration of assessment & treatment techniques (20% - In class)
  • Case Study Assignment: Analysis of adolescent patient case - Online Asynchronous Discussion (30%)
  • Participation & Professionalism: Active engagement in workshops and online discussions and forums (20%)
  • Written Examination: Multiple choice and short answer questions - Online (30%)

Module 2 - Fertility & Reproductive Health

  • Case Study Portfolio: Documentation of 1-3 pregnancy cases with treatment rationales and outcomes (50% - Asynchronous Online)

  • Professional Development: Reflection on scope of practice, role for collaborative professionals and referral criteria (10%)
  • Written Exam: Multiple choice and short answer questions (20% - Online)

  • Peer Presentation: Research topic related to pelvic or sexual health (35% - Live online)
  • Clinical Reasoning Exercise: Problem-solving pelvic health cases (20% - Online)
  • Continuing Education Plan: Personal learning objectives for ongoing professional development (10%)
  • Participation & Professionalism: Active engagement in workshops and online discussions (10%)

Module 5 - Menopause & Aging

  • Ageism Audit Project: Part 1 - Systematic review of their workplace, community, or media consumption to identify examples of ageism (20% - Asynchronous online). Part 2 - Document their own ageist thoughts, assumptions, or reactions over several weeks, analyzing triggers and developing awareness of unconscious biases as their awareness changes (20% - In class discussion)
  • Clinical Case Study: Analysis of patient in Perimenopause or Menopause (20% - In class)
  • Online Forum - Resources for women in perimenopause & menopause by region (10%)
  • Written Examination: Multiple choice and short answer questions (30% - Online)
